TAPD Kali Level 2-5

TAPD Kali Curriculum Strategy

Level 2 

We expand your knowledge of impact weapons and knife defense, while introducing multiple attacker defense drills.

Level 3 

Things get fun with a variety of other edged weapons and an introduction to projectile and flexible weapons.

Level 4 & 5

Both of these levels have some new techniques and strategies with known weapons but focus on refinement of skills under more intense sparring and scenario training.



Additional Weapons Covered

Karambit 

claw-like Indonesian knife with finger loop

Push dagger

knife that combines boxing with blade work

Tanbo 

1-ft. staff for close-quarter striking and grappling

Stick 

single and double Escrima stick fighting techniques 

Hanbo 

3-ft. "half-staff" with striking and grappling techniques 

Short staff 

4-ft. and 5-ft. staff that combines staff and long sword movements 

Machete  

hacking and slashing utility short sword

Tomahawk 

versatile Native American short axe for all ranges, great for manipulation

Bow archery 

eclectic archery techniques for movement in mid and close range

Pistol

close-quarter handgun defense and basic usage 

Sarong

sash used as an improvised weapon; techniques apply to scarves and other textiles

Slung-shot

While true slung shots (think batteries in a sock, crafted with the intent of causing extreme damage) are illegal, the basic usage concepts can apply to flexible improvised weapons with uneven weight distribution, such as keys on a lanyard or even baseball hats.
